Practical Help. Real Dignity.

To Whom Much Is Given Inc. was founded on a simple but powerful belief: that every person in crisis deserves compassionate, practical support — delivered with dignity and without unnecessary barriers.

We provide direct financial assistance to working-class individuals and families who are facing urgent hardship but do not qualify for most government assistance programs. These are people who work hard, pay their bills, and build their lives — yet one unexpected event can push them into a crisis they cannot easily escape on their own.

We cut through the bureaucracy. We skip the invasive questionnaires and excessive paperwork. We focus on people, not processes — because real help should be human.

Where It All Began

Tracie Johnson is the founder and executive director of To Whom Much Is Given. — a nonprofit born from her deep frustration with the barriers she witnessed as a licensed Social Worker in Ohio.

For years, Tracie watched families in genuine crisis navigate a maze of invasive questions, excessive paperwork, and prolonged approvals before receiving even basic help. She knew there had to be a better way — a model that put people first, not process.

“I dreamed of being able to go to the bank and just withdraw funds to buy shoes for a child or pay someone’s utility bill — without layers of management approval and mountains of forms. People in crisis deserve better than that.”

As a single parent herself, Tracie understands firsthand the emotional and financial weight of hardship. That lived experience deepened her empathy and strengthened her resolve to build something different. She holds a master’s degree in Social Work from the University of Cincinnati and brings both professional expertise and personal compassion to everything she does.

Tracie draws deep inspiration from her late father, Earl Johnson, whose unwavering commitment to supporting children and families shaped her values from an early age. His spirit — rooted in listening, showing up, and being present for others — lives on in every family TWMIG serves.
